With the game just two days away, the San Diego Barracudas have announced their 20-man lineup for the first game of the PCRL era. Alongside returning stars such as hard-hitting Austin Edmondson and the versatile Robert Tanielu Jr., the Cudas pack boasts some impressive new recruits like Khalifa ‘Wiz’ Agbakwuru - a powerful runner sure to do some damage to the Mongrel forwards.

In the backline, it is pace across the board in what the squad have dubbed the ‘Legion of Zoom’. Speed to burn from Love, Higgins, Adams, and Addison, allied to the renewed strength and power of Darwin II Doliente, will be a handful for Ady Cooney’s LA men.

In an all-Australian half-back pairing, the experience of Corey Morris and Ryan Kirkpatrick will be looking to impress on their Barracudas debut.

Captain Eli Welsh commented, “I’m excited to kick off our first game as captain. The Cooney-Calverley Cup will come to its rightful home in San Diego and I don’t expect it to leave any time soon. The Barracudas are bigger and better than ever, we have grown a lot as a team and we are excited to get to show everyone what we have been working on. We have a lot of new and experienced talent that have been showing up and showing out! We are ready to get out there and do what we know we can do! The battery is hungry for some puppy meat!”
